Reader photo: Christmas in the Land Down Under

Tina Wayt took this photo in 2008 when her daughter attended school in the Land Down Under. “While she was there, we had the pleasure of being invited to join her boyfriend’s family at Couran Cove, an island resort off the Gold Coast (no cars allowed).” (Note to readers: Reports suggest that the resort is now closed.)

Wayt said they had “an unforgettable time watching Santa arrive on a Jet Ski, elves making mischief and an incredible Christmas brunch on the beach.” That giant Mrs. Claus and elf? Volunteers who helped make merry.

“It was,” she said, “the most memorable Christmas we have had to date.”
