The London Eye: Wish I were there

Share

Want to take a trip to the moon for about $27? That’s the cost of a ticket on the London Eye which, under a full moon, could take you close enough. This dreamy shot may inspire the truly moonstruck to get married aboard the Eye in a flower-filled capsule of their own -- for about $4,800.

But here’s how some romantics can get a free spin on the London landmark wheel. To mark the April 29 royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Eye will give a free ride to married couples named Will and Kate (wedding certificate and ID required) during the week following the royal wedding.

On the day of the royal nuptials, lights on the Eye will turn red, white and blue to honor the colors of the Union Jack, the ride’s website says. Hmm... sounds good, as long as the lights don’t block out a view of the moon.
