Frontier Airlines cancels flights after Denver hail damages planes

Frontier Airlines canceled 65 flights Friday and Saturday after some of its planes were damaged by golf-ball-sized hail that swept through Denver on Wednesday, the airline said in a statement. Frontier is waiving change fees for travelers booked on flights through Tuesday.

The airline said the damaged planes were on the ground at its hub in Denver International Airport (DEN) when the storm hit. It said that crews were continuing to inspect aircraft and repair any damaged ones, The airline canceled more than 60 flights on Thursday.

“Our best guidance is that if you don’t have to travel from, to, or through Denver today [Friday] or tomorrow, we’d advise that you take advantage of the travel policy,” the statement said.

Canceled flights include:

-- Today: Flight 403 from Denver to L.A. at 9:59 a.m. and Flight 608 from L.A. to Denver at 10:50 a.m.

-- Saturday: Flight 415 from Denver to L.A. at 1:16 p.m. and Flight 114 at 3:12 p.m. from L.A. to Denver. Check here for a complete list.

To get the fee waiver on changes or to cancel flights through Tuesday, travel must be rebooked by midnight Tuesday and completed by Aug. 5.
