A team of Travelocity tweeters on Tuesday and Wednesday will report on what’s happening over the holiday crush at five airports: Los Angeles (LAX), Chicago (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), New York City (La Guardia, or LGA) and Washington, D.C. (IAD).

The Thanksgiving Task Force, as the company calls it, aims to help air travelers navigate the nation’s busiest airports on two of their busiest days via Twitter messages -- and invites others to add their own updates with the hashtag #TravelocityTTF.

Here’s what Travelocity’s spotter in L.A. @flyfromla tweeted early Tuesday afternoon:

“LAX traffic officers handing out free Starbucks coupons as part of N.I.C.E. Program launching today.”

“Arrivals+departures at T1 - Swest+US Air - majority on time. Swest counter has bag check lines, but they are moving quickly.”

The Auto Club of Southern California last week predicted a 4.1% increase over last year among Southern Californians who will travel over the Thanksgiving weekend. Of the 3.3 million in the Southland hitting the road, approximately 386,00 of them will be fliers, the Auto Club said.
