Las Vegas: Face-time with the Easter bunny at Ethel M Chocolates

Chocolate is what everyone looks for in their Easter baskets, so perhaps a visit to a chocolate factory this weekend is in order. Ethel M Chocolates in Henderson, Nev., hosts three days of kid-centric activities that include a visit from the Easter bunny.

The deal: The Spring Spectacular features free activities good for families with children. Photos with the Easter bunny, face-painting and balloon creations are planned at the company’s factory near Las Vegas. The Saturday lineup adds a jazz band and a show of artwork created by people with disabilities who are affiliated with Opportunity Village; sales benefit the charity. Parents and kids may also take a self-guided tour of the factory.

Ethel M Chocolates has been a Las Vegas-area tourist stop for the last three decades. For those who don’t know the story, Ethel Mars began making chocolate in her kitchen in the early 1900s. Then her son came to Henderson and created gourmet chocolates just like Mom made under the company name Ethel M.

When: Free events will be 1-5 p.m. today (Friday), noon-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
