Las Vegas: Two Gordon Ramsay restaurants to open next week

Share

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will open two restaurants next week along Las Vegas’ ever-glittering Strip. Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill launches Tuesday at Caesars Palace, and Gordon Ramsay BurGR will open Dec. 22 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

With Ramsay, a Scot who grew up in Stratford-on-Avon, at the helm, the Pub & Grill promises the feel and flavors of an authentic English eatery. It will be a restaurant serving dishes such as lamb T-bone and Cornish chicken and a pub with 36 beers on tap and 24 more in bottles.

The cuisine will include typical pub grub such as shepherd’s pie, fried egg sandwich and, of course, fish and chips. (The pub and grill will open for dinner on Tuesday but will not be serving lunch until mid-January.)

Servers will wear English punk-themed uniforms designed by Allison Leach, known for her costume work for “Glee: and “Mad Men.”

At Planet Hollywood, BurgGR, a play on the chef’s initials, will be Ramsay’s first venture into the burger business. The patties will incorporate three cuts of choice beef – brisket, chuck and short rib – and will be basted in Devonshire butter for added richness before being plated on brioche buns. The milkshakes on the menu will be mixtures of traditional shake ingredients with creamy pudding.

Las Vegas has been good to Ramsay. Reservations to his first venture into Sin City, Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris, have been a hot commodity since its May opening.

“We’ve been developing these different concepts for quite a while to deliver three distinct, unique dining experiences with the variety, originality and high quality that we believe people want and appreciate,” Ramsay said in a prepared statement.

Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill: (702) 731-7100 and Gordon Ramsay BurgGR: (702) 785-5555.
