Half-off $100 hotel gift cards from Travelocity Incentives

Here’s a deal that’s creating some buzz: Buy a $100 Travelocity hotel gift card for $50, but only for the next 12 or so hours. As of Tuesday morning, more than 5,000 people had purchased the vouchers.

The deal: While the savings here are obvious, this offer requires some consideration to make sure it will work for you.

First, the offer is from Travelocity Incentives, a sister company of Travelocity. Why does that matter? Because you will be using the hotel gift card at Travelocity Incentives, which might have slightly different hotel offers than those on Travelocity.

Second, gift card users have to spend at least $250 on a hotel reservation and stay at least two nights. You can buy as many gift cards as you like, but you can only apply the $100 to one two-night hotel stay. Third, the hotel vouchers must be used by June 30. If you use it after that date, it’s worth $50, exactly what you paid for it.

When: This deal is good only until 11:59 PST Tuesday -- or until vouchers sell out.

Tested: I called to double-check the terms of this deal (and you should too if you have any doubts about how to use it) that’s being sold through AmazonLocal Seattle. I checked on prospective hotels in San Francisco,, where I might use the gift card, and found top brands such as Kimptons, Joie de Vivre, Sheraton, Westin, etc. So think about where you’re going and how you might best use the voucher -- just don’t wait too long because the clock is ticking.
