Check out the panoramic view at the new Fairmont Makati, set to open Dec. 3 in the Philippines. The 30-story hotel overlooks Makati, one of 17 cities that’s part of metro Manila. A focal point of each guestroom is floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

The hotel, which will be Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ first property in Southeast Asia, is in Manila’s upscale business district.

“We’re very excited to be opening the Fairmont Makati,” said Jennifer Fox, president of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. “It’s been close to two decades since the city has added any new luxury hotels. We’re confident that the Fairmont Makati will play a major role in the ongoing development of this beautiful city as a tourist and business visitor destination.”

The hotel joins a growing portfolio of Fairmont hotels in the Asia Pacific region, including the recently opened Fairmont Jaipur in India and Shanghai’s Fairmont Peace Hotel.

“It nicely complements our regional portfolio,” Fox said, mentioning hotels in Asian markets such as Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore.

Fairmont Makati has 280 rooms and suites, a spa and five restaurants and lounges. The tower housing it is also home to Raffles Makati, a 32-room, all-suite hotel, and Raffles Residences, featuring 237 one- to four-bedroom residences for both short and long- term stays.

Raffles is a sister brand under the parent company Fairmont Raffles Hotels International.

An opening special is available at the Fairmont Makati from Dec. 4 through March 31, 2013. Rates start at $239 a night.
