Brain need cleansing? Try ‘A Minute Away’

Got a minute? That’s just enough time to meet “A Minute Away,” a new video feature at latimes.com/travel that’s designed to give you a moment’s peace, a brief cleansing of the brain and maybe a travel idea or two. Lots of showing, not so much telling. And not long enough to make you worry about getting caught by the boss.

To start, we’ll add a new one every Friday. These Minutes (see below the Video spot below the blog) will range widely, starting with Moscow in a snowstorm. Later: a cave in La Jolla; the reading room of the New York Public Library; a Peruvian mountaintop; a waterfall in Oregon. (I’ll take location suggestions via Twitter @mrcsreynolds.)

On these videos there will be no talking heads, no musical score and not much text, either. Just scenery (still and moving) with a natural soundtrack of lapping waves, snow crunching underfoot, the whoosh of a passing taxi. And now to Red Square...
