Relax here: Best spa hotels in the U.S., TripAdvisor reviews say

Travelers love relaxing at spas, and spa hotels in California and Las Vegas ranked in the top 10 places to unwind in the United States, according to TripAdvisor traveler reviews and opinions.

Four Seasons Resort/The Biltmore in Santa Barbara (average price, $436 a night), Ojai Valley Inn and Spa in Ojai (average price, $317 a night) Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village in Westlake Village (average price, $230 a night) and Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas won high marks from travelers as the best blissful retreats.

Others on the list include:

— Italian palazzo-style Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes, in Orlando, Fla.

— Seaside Canyon Ranch Hotel & Spa Miami Beach.

— Forty-five-story Four Seasons Hotel Denver.

— Hotel surrounded by a hill preserve Travaasa Austin in Texas.

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Kaupulehu on the Big Island of Hawaii.

— Very urban Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago

The ratings come with a wellness survey of 1,100 travelers that revealed how many Americans plan to take a spa vacation.

“Our survey shows that for nearly a third of travelers, the beginning of a new year is a chance to recharge their batteries with a rejuvenation trip,” Brooke Ferencsik, director of communications at TripAdvisor, said in a statement. Of those planning to take a wellness trip, almost half said they would stay in a hotel during their visit.
