The Phoenician at the base of Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale, Ariz., wants to share its 25th birthday celebration with guests. Reserve one night starting at $199 and stay every other night for $25.

The deal: The AAA five diamond resort turns 25 on Oct. 1, but this offer extends through the end of summer. It’s hot in Scottsdale at this time of year, but there are nine pools and a water slide to keep things cool.

The first night is prepaid, and there’s no discount if you stay one night. But stay four nights and you would receive two at the $25 rate. The price will be adjusted at the hotel, so don’t expect to see the savings when you book online. Use the code “OUR25TH” when making a reservation.

When: The offier is good through Sept. 30.

Tested: I found the offer available midweek (Aug. 25-29) for $209 a night and on a weekend (Aug. 2-6) for $219 a night. In both cases, second and fourth nights cost $25 each. In my test, I found a 600-square-foot room with a patio or balcony that could accommodate two adults and two children. (I had a choice of double or king-sized beds.)

Sale prices don’t include tax or the daily resort fee of $29. Add those in and the room tab with the 25th birthday rate comes out to about $150 a night plus tax.
