This post has been updated. See the note below for details.

It’s not too early to think about a fall color vacation on Blount Small Ship Adventures. Each ship holds 88 passengers and is small enough to travel to places big ships can’t — along the inland Erie Canal, for instance, on a trip from New York to Canada. Blount is discounting selected New England cruises in September and October for a limited time.

The deal: Blount takes 25% off these fall cruises:

— $2,999 per person, double occupancy, for 13-day sailings between New York and Montreal by way of the Erie Canal. Departs Sept. 6 and 10, and Oct. 18.
— $2,249 per person, double occupancy, for 10-day sailings between Boston and New York by way of Newport, R.I.; New London, Conn. and Catskill, N.Y. on Oct. 8 and 19.

When: The 25% discount is good through Sept. 3.

Tested: There’s availability for cabins, which come with meals and snacks, and wine and beer. Blount allows passengers to bring their own liquor too. The discount saves $750 on 10-day cruises and $1,000 on 13-day cruises.
