Phoenix: Summer rates, events rock at the Arizona Biltmore

Rock ‘n’ roll fans should have a blockbuster summer at the Arizona Biltmore, where room rates start at $109.
Elton John, Eric Clapton and Bruce Springsteen, to name a few, have all vacationed at the Phoenix resort, which is capitalizing on its music connections with its “Rockin’ Summer” events.
Headlining the program is “Rock On! The Exhibit,” a showcase of more than 30 images by photographer John Robert Rowlands that traces the history of rock music (through Sept.16).
Rock-themed movies are shown in the Aztec Room, the resort’s original theater in the ‘30s. And on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings a DJ spins tunes at the Paradise Pool.
Every Saturday night at 9 p.m. the sky above the hotel will light up with fireworks set to rock music.
On July 4 and Aug. 31, Labor Day, the Squaw Peak Lawn will be the site of the Rockin’ Fiesta, a Mexican buffet and live music.
If all those activities aren’t enough, even the Biltmore’s spa gets in on the act with rockin’ treatments such as the I Want to Hold Your Hand Manicure for $55 and the Love Me Hairdo for $65.
The summer will also rock for families with a host of kids’ activities such as a tennis camp, a game room and cooking classes. Family-friendly movies will also be featured pool-side.
The starting summer rate of $109 is offered through Labor Day, Sept. 2. For information and reservations, go to www.arizonabiltmore.com or call (800) 950-0086.
