Which famous family would Americans most like to go on a road trip with? The Obamas came in first, and acting couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner came in a close second, according to a recent survey conducted by Choice Hotels.

The survey asked more than 1,200 adults and a sample of more than 500 families who plan to travel with children this summer for their opinions about summer trips. Twenty-three percent of respondents chose the Obamas and 22% selected the Affleck-Garner clan. The family of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie came in third, chosen by 8% of the survey respondents.

More interesting are the celebrities who Americans wouldn’t want to share a van with. Honey Boo-Boo’s family (33%) and the Kardashians (21%) topped the least-favorite list.

Regardless of who they go with, kids had definite ideas about where they would want to go. In a different survey, Highlights for Children magazine last month asked kids how they would rank their top summer vacation destinations.

Niagara Falls, N.Y., came in first, followed by something called the Top Secret Upside Down White House in the Wisconsin Dells.

After that, the list includes Myrtle Beach, S.C.; the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, which is set to reopen July 4 after being damaged by Hurricane Sandy; the Florida Keys; the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, N.M.; the real White House in Washington; Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and Montana; the Grand Canyon in Arizona and the kitschy World’s Largest Ball of Twine in Cawker City, Kan.
