Gear: Tether keeps your camera, camcorder or binoculars handy
The latest in the quest for a better camera strap is the Leash.
The two-piece quick-connect system from Peak Design is composed of an “anchor disk,” which attaches to any camera’s loop or D-ring. The strap, which can be used as a neck or sling strap, snaps onto the anchor disk with a built-in clip.
Removing the leash from the anchor clip requires a one-handed push of a button. The strap, made of seatbelt-type nylon webbings, is adjustable from 19 to 60 inches, is made of sturdy seatbelt-type nylon webbing.
The set comes with one strap and four anchors, which can be attached to multiple positions on your camera for a range of leverage -- or to a camcorder or binoculars.
Also available: an 8-inch nylon web Cuff, which functions as a camera strap for the wrist and comes with two anchor clips.
Camera Leash costs about $35; Cuff about $20.
