Hawaiian Airlines on Wednesday started nonstop service from Honolulu to Auckland, becoming the first U.S. carrier flying to the New Zealand city. The airline offers connecting service from Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas and other West Coast cities.

“The deep cultural connections between our islands and the islands of Aotearoa make New Zealand a natural destination for Hawaiian and for our singular brand of authentic Hawaiian hospitality,” airline President and Chief Executive Mark Dunkerley said in a statement.

Hawaiian will operate three flights a week between the two cities. Flights leave Honolulu at 1:45 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and arrive in New Zealand at 9:55 p.m. the following day. Return flights leave Auckland at 11:55 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. On the route, the airline will fly A330’s with seat-back screens and entertainment options.
