Las Vegas: Wet ‘n’ Wild returns next week in a new location

Share

Wet n’ Wild will return to the list of Las Vegas attractions when it opens June 3 in a new location.

The water park, which used to occupy some prime real estate along the Strip, is now in the southwest valley at 7055 S. Fort Apache Road. That’s about 10 miles west of the big resorts along Las Vegas Boulevard, just off Interstate 215.

Guests will be able to cool off -- average Vegas highs in June, July and August are 99, 104 and 102, respectively, according to Weather.com -- while enjoying water-themed attractions.

The Rattler, a three-person experience, will take people through several twists and turns, with a few shakes tossed in, as they descend through more than 360 feet of tubing before splashing into a pool.

Less adventurous visitors can try the Colorado Cooler, a leisurely float ride that loops around the park’s central Splash Island. The island’s large pool features a “tipping bucket” that occasionally will drop 300 gallons of water onto the swimmers below.

The park will open at 10 a.m. daily through Sept. 30. General admission is $39.99 for adults and $29.99 for kids less than 42 inches tall. Children 2 and younger are admitted free.
