While the original “Star Trek” TV show only lasted three seasons, the music from the 1966 series and the films that followed has become as iconic as the show itself.

“Star Trek” celebrates its 50th anniversary with “Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage,” a live show that includes a full symphony at the Orleans Arena on April 4. The symphony will perform music from the TV shows and movies while clips from the show and films play on a 40-foot, high-definition screen.

Fans can hear songs from “Star Trek: The Original Series,” “Star Trek: The Motion Picture,” “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,” “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home,” “Star Trek: Insurrection,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” and “Star Trek: Voyager.”

“When a story has renamed aircraft carriers, NASA space shuttles, and the first names of thousands of children in hundreds of countries, you realize these characters go beyond entertainment, but are more like family,” Brady Beaubien, CineConcerts co-founder and producer, says in a statement.

Justin Freer, who has conducted symphonies behind film music for “The Lord of the Rings” film trilogy, “The Godfather” and “Gladiator,” handles the baton for this production.

Freer has appeared with orchestras including the Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and Sydney Symphony.

Tickets are $50.
