Sushi burritos, fried ice cream and White Castle Cravers invade Las Vegas

Food trucks galore will drive into Las Vegas to serve up their specialty specialty dishes during the Great American Foodie Fest Thursday, April 30, through Sunday, May 3, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

More than 50 food trucks and food vendors will huddle for this event that includes White Castle dishing out Cravers from its Crave Mobile Food Truck in singles and suitcases.

Local favorites such as Fukuburger and Dragon Grille join food trucks such as California-based Jogasaki Sushi Burrito, Tornado Potato, Frach’s Fried Ice Cream and “Great Food Truck Race” season-five winner The Middle Feast.

Trucks from Arizona such as Q UP Barbeque and Maine’s Lobster Lady join White Rabbit, which recently opened a permanent location in Las Vegas.

Aside from getting your fill of food and drink options, the festival includes deejays along with carnival rides, games, eating competitions and more.

Tickets start at $8 per day or $11 for an unlimited weekend pass, but both options are only available if purchased in advance.

A VIP tent, for $75 per day in advance, includes passed appetizers and desserts, an open bar, beer and wine tastings and chef demonstrations.

The event will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
