Mother’s Day is Sunday. Are you ready? No pressure, but time is running short. We’ve got 44 ideas on where to go and what to buy, and essays that will inspire you to craft a plan.

We looked at six of the easiest and most scenic trails around. By the way, Mother’s Day has been a holiday for more than a century. U.S. President Woodrow Wilson in 1914 proclaimed the second Sunday in May to be celebrated “as a public expression of love and reverence for the mothers of our country.”
