Della Reese parts with her longtime home in Bel-Air

Singer and actress Della Reese and her husband, producer Franklin Lett, have sold their longtime home in Bel-Air for $7.5 million.

Featuring views of the Stone Canyon Reservoir, the more than half-acre property has a Sierra Nevada Mountains vibe with 100-feet-tall pine trees.

During her time in the midcentury contemporary, Reese expanded it to 9,000 square feet, adding a near Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool. Living spaces in the two-story house include a billiard room, a library, an office, four bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Reese, who was born in Detroit, got her start as a gospel singer touring with Mahalia Jackson and in 1959 had the hit single “Don’t You Know?” She went on to have her own talk show, “Della,” in 1969 and 1970 and was a regular on the game show and late-night talk show circuit.

More recently, she starred in “Touched by an Angel” from 1994 to 2003. This year she has appeared on the drama “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”

The property was purchased by an investment firm planning to rebuild. Reese sold because she will be relocating locally.

Ernie Carswell and Chris Pickett of Teles Properties handled the off-market transaction.
