Raiders legend Steve Wisniewski sheds Danville estate
Steve Wisniewski, the retired All-Pro offensive lineman who spent 13 seasons with the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders, has sold his home in Danville, Calif., for $3.35 million.
The brick-lined Traditional, built in 1997, occupies nearly two acres in a private enclave with views of the Mt. Diablo and the Las Trampas foothills. The two-story floor plan sports detailed wood paneling and molding, hardwood flooring and three fireplaces.
Two offices, a chef’s kitchen and a master suite with a sitting room and fireplace are among the features. In all, the home counts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, 13 rooms and more than 6,200 square feet of living space.
The park-like grounds include a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen, a pool and spa, tiered gardens and a professionally built playhouse.
An eight-time Pro Bowl selection, “The Wiz” made 206 starts on the Raiders offensive line from 1989 to 2001, missing just two games during that time. Since his retirement, he has served on Jim Harbaugh’s staff at Stanford and as an assistant coach for Oakland in 2011.
Wisniewski purchased the home in 2003 for $2.282 million, public records show. The property originally listed for sale in April at $3.395 million.
Robin Miles of Empire Realty Associates listed the home on behalf of Wisniewski. Clark Johnson of Coldwell Banker represented the buyer in the sale, which closed in early July.
