What is it about North Carolina? Luke Bryan fell off a stage during his Charlotte concert as he was dancing to a Macklemore song on Thursday.

Perhaps he would have had this kind of night go differently (again).

The country star, who was performing at the PNC Music Pavilion during his “That’s My Kinda Night” tour, was standing near the edge of the stage when, just as he was getting ready to belt out a lyric from “Can’t Hold Us,” he slipped and tumbled to the floor in front of the audience standing behind barricades below.

YouTube footage shows security rushing to his aid, and moments later the “Drink A Beer” singer emerged giving the signal that he was OK. He propped himself back up on the stage and continued singing -- much to the audience’s delight.

That’s when he brought up the last time he tripped onstage when he was in the Tar Heel state. It happened in February during his concert at the Greensboro Coliseum.

“The last time I was in North Carolina I busted my ass,” he said. “What is it about North Carolina that makes me bust my ass?” Then he beckoned fans to YouTube the misstep and then went on to sing a fall-friendly medley of his songs while still on his knees at the edge of the stage.

Bryan took to Twitter later that night to say that he’s “good” and had a “few stitches” after the stumble.

The 37-year-old crooner with a proclivity for baseball caps was recently named People Country’s Sexiest Man Alive.
