Ex-brother-in-law arrested in Hudson family deaths
CHICAGO --
The estranged brother-in-law of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson has been arrested for the murders of her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.
Authorities say 27-year-old William Balfour was arrested today at Stateville Prison in the deaths of Darnell Hudson Donerson, Jason Hudson, and Julian King.
Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Monique Bond says Balfour has been released to detectives and he's awaiting formal charges.
The bodies of Donerson and Jason Hudson were discovered Oct. 24 at the family's home. Julian's body was found three days later in a sport utility vehicle on the city's West Side.
Police took Balfour into custody the same day the adults' bodies were discovered. After 48 hours he was taken to Stateville on a parole violation.
