Earthquake: Shallow 4.1 quake strikes near Laytonville, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 4.1 earthquake was reported Sunday morning eight miles from Laytonville, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 5 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 41 miles from Ukiah, 70 miles from Fortuna and 72 miles from Clearlake.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
