Shooting deaths in San Diego home investigated as a murder-suicide

Police say the shooting deaths of a man, woman and child in San Diego were a murder-suicide

Three people were found shot to death Tuesday in the Rancho Penasquitos neighborhood of San Diego, police said.

A 50-year-old man, 40-year-old woman and a juvenile boy were found after police went to the home when a friend notified them that the family had not been seen for several days.

The deaths are being investigated as a murder-suicide involving members of the same family, said Lt. Paul Rorrison.

Initial evidence indicates the man killed the woman downstairs and then went upstairs and killed himself and the boy, Rorrison said.
