A West Covina man is due in court for his arraignment Friday, after authorities say he murdered his father-in-law and mother-in-law.

A report of several gunshots and the sounds of children screaming led West Covina police to a condominium in the 1300 block of East Oahu on Wednesday night. Aiping Diao, 60, and his wife, Shu Zhang, 60, both of China, were found dead inside the building of apparent gunshot wounds.

Police arrested Caminero Wang, 43, on suspicion of murder. The couple was visiting their daughter at the time of their death, police said.

The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported that the incident began as a family dispute but said investigators don’t yet know what the dispute was about.

Three children, ages 3, 6 and 8, were found hiding in a restroom and were not physically injured. A handgun was found at the scene, police said.
