Andrew Fryberg, one of the students shot at a Washington state high school last month, succumbed to his injuries Friday night, according to Harborview Medical Center officials.

Fryberg, 15, died 14 days after he was shot in the head at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, according to a statement from the medical center.

Fryberg is the fourth victim of the Oct. 24 shooting to die from injuries.

In a statement, Fryberg’s family thanked the community for its compassion and support.

“Our family is overwhelmed with the love and care that has been provided to our loved one during this time and you all will forever hold a special place in our hearts,” the statement said.

Zoe Galasso, Gia Soriano and Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, all 14, also died after a gunman, identified as Jaylen Fryberg, opened fire on their table in the school cafeteria.

Nate Hatch, 14, was shot in the jaw but survived the attack and was released from the hospital Thursday.

The shooter, also a student at the school, was a cousin of both Andrew Fryberg and Nate Hatch, authorities said. He committed suicide.

The motive for the shooting is unclear, but authorities said the shooter sent a text message to the victims, inviting them to sit together at a table where the attack took place.
