Kids’ Reading Room: In “Watch Where You Fly!” on the Jan. 2 Kids’ Reading Room pages, the jumbo jet is referred to as a 727 that has four engines. It should have referred to a 747. The 727 has only three engines.

Projectfresh: An article in the Jan. 6 Calendar about the interdisciplinary brainstorming session Projectfresh failed to mention that its Jan. 11 event, “Conscious Capitalism and the Brain,” at the Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles is co-sponsored by the George Greenstein Institute.

Rose Parade band: In the Jan. 2 Section A article on the Rose Parade, a caption accompanying a photo of the All-Birdville Marching Band identified the band’s Texas hometown as Birdville. The band comprises students from three high schools in the Birdville Independent School District. The administrative offices of the district are in Haltom City, Texas. There is no town called Birdville.

Winter weather: In the Jan. 5 LATExtra section, the main photo accompanying an article about the aftermath of the storms earlier in the week showed a Ferris wheel framed by snowcapped mountains. The caption erred in referring to the range as the San Bernardino Mountains. The view was of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Hideko Takamine: In the Jan. 5 LATExtra section, the caption for a photo that appeared with the obituary of Japanese actress Hideko Takamine misspelled the name of the actor with whom she was pictured. He was Eijiro, not Fijiro, Tono.

Jean Wilkinson: In the Jan. 6 LATExtra section, the obituary of Jean Benson Wilkinson, a Los Angeles teacher who was fired during the Red Scare, cited a 1954 editorial by William Randolph Hearst. The year was correct but not the author; Hearst died in 1951. The editorial was unsigned and ran in the Los Angeles Herald Express, a Hearst newspaper.
