Acting on a faxed tip to KTLA-TV Channel 5, police on Saturday found the body of a woman inside the trunk of a car in the San Fernando Valley.
Officers found the body about 2 p.m. after the television station alerted them to a fax it had received, Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Officer April Harding said.
The fax said a woman had been killed Feb. 28 in the Valley Village area. It named two people as suspects and described the location of the car that held the body.
Police are investigating.
