Speed a factor in deadly seven-vehicle Tarzana crash, police say
Speed was a factor in a seven-vehicle crash in Tarzana late Monday night that left one woman dead, police said Tuesday.
The crash occurred about 11 p.m. on Ventura Boulevard east of Corbin Avenue near the border dividing Tarzana and Reseda.
A Ford Taurus moving eastbound slammed into several vehicles waiting at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and the southbound onramp to the Ventura Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A woman in her 60s, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Taurus was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition. Three others had minor injuries.
The LAPD said that “it appears speed was a factor in this collision” and that “no arrests have been made at this time.”
