Imagine asking your boss' wife out on a date. Now imagine your boss is the commander in chief of the most powerful military in the world.
None of that deterred Marine Lance Cpl. Aaron Leeks, who asked First Lady Michelle Obama on Friday if she would accompany him to the Marine Corps Ball next year.
"With your husband's permission, of course," Leeks said, according to a CNN account.

Mrs. Obama, who was sorting toys during a "Toys for Tots" drive at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, reportedly said: "I'd love to," and had an aide take down Leeks' information.
"Actually, she said I'd need to speak to her husband, too, but she said she'd love to," Leeks told the Associated Press.
This year Hollywood stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis each accepted date requests from members of the U.S. military. But the request from Leeks, 20, was perhaps the most audacious.
White House spokesman Jay Carney didn't think President Obama was aware of the gesture as of this afternoon.
"The first lady's commitment to military families is very strong indeed, so I'm sure she was flattered by the invitation," he told reporters.
Leeks is due to be deployed to Afghanistan this January, but expects to be back home for the Marine Corps ball.
