Rested and ready Lakers tune up for conference finals
New Orleans or San Antonio?
The Lakers still don’t know who they’re going to play in the Western Conference Finals, though that will change tonight when the Hornets and the Spurs play Game 7 of their playoff series in New Orleans.
Meanwhile, the Lakers showed up today in El Segundo for their first full practice since eliminating the Utah Jazz.
The Lakers looked active and spry, and Kobe Bryant reported no lingering effects from the back spasms that plagued him a week ago.
In fact, all of the players enjoyed the extra rest.
“You don’t know how happy we were to be able to close the [Utah] series in six games and not go to a Game 7,” Pau Gasol said. “It gave us these extra couple days to prepare ourselves, to disconnect and to freshen up.”

Lakers forward Trevor Ariza, who hasn’t played since Jan. 20, finished practice today with a reverse dunk. He is expected to return to game action in the upcoming series.
