Kobe Bryant’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds also rehabbing ankle

Share

Kobe Bryant is expected to play on Friday night after missing two games and playing only 12 minutes in one other game because of a severely sprained ankle.

His wax figure went through a similar recovery process.

Bryant’s likeness, at Madame Tussauds Hollywood, was fitted with a muscle stimulator, similar to the device the Lakers All-Star guard used to help treat his ankle.

Additionally fans signed a giant get-well card at the feet of Bryant’s figure, wishing him a quick recovery.

Bryant was injured in the closing seconds of a loss to the Hawks in Atlanta on March 13 when Dahntay Jones stepped under Bryant after the Lakers star shot a fadeaway jumper. The NBA later acknowledged that a foul should have been called, but that didn’t help the Lakers in the win-loss column.

Bryant tried to play two days later against the Indiana Pacers but got through only 12 minutes before sitting out.

As part of the recovery process, Bryant received electro-stimulation treatments on the ankle, inspiring Madame Tussauds’ show of support.
