UCLA gets commitment from point guard Zach LaVine

Zach LaVine, a 6-foot-3 point guard from Bothell (Wash.) High School, has committed to play at UCLA, according Marvin Cater, LaVine’s godfather.

LaVine is ranked 17th among point guards nationally by Scout.com. He also had offers from Arizona, Louisville, Texas and Washington, among others.

His commitment has come after the Bruins’ 2012 recruiting class was ranked second nationally by Scout.com.

LaVine will sign a letter of intent in November.
