Classy and sassy comedy comes to the Suncoast Showroom in July when Sommore takes the stage for two nights. Dubbed the “Queen of Comedy,” Sommore brings her stand-up routine to the Las Vegas stage July 11-12.

Sommore’s frank and fearless routines and controversial wit have found fans including Oprah Winfrey, who called her “a force to be reckoned with in the new millennium.”

The New Jersey native was the first woman to host BET’s “Comic View” and later Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam” and “Showtime at the Apollo.”

In 2000, she entered The Guinness Book of World Records when she performed for an audience of more than 50,000 people in Atlanta as part of the Queens of Comedy tour. The recording of the show became the longest-running and highest-rated special in the history of Showtime Networks.

She also received the Richard Pryor Award for Comic of the Year in 1995.

Sommore’s film credits include roles in “Soul Plane,” “Friday After Next” and “Something New.” She has appeared on the TV series “Flavor of Love,” as a regular on the game show “1 vs. 100” and competing for the winning team on season six of “Celebrity Fit Club.”

She also guest-starred in an episode of VH1’s television series “Hit the Floor” last year.

Tickets start at $15.95.
