David Lloyd, who won two Emmy Awards writing for ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ in the 1970s, died Tuesday, his son Christopher said. The elder Lloyd was nominated several more times for his work on such classic TV sit-coms as ‘Rhoda,’ ‘Taxi’ and ‘Cheers,’ and he won another Emmy as a producer on ‘Frasier,’ along with his son. Lloyd is best known for writing the ‘Chuckles Bites the Dust’ episode for ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ in 1975. Here’s a link to the script, and a link to a clip on youtube.
