Unincorporated Poway:

Two people killed by the fire in the unincorporated section of Poway apparently had been warned to evacuate the advancing fire but declined, according to Jan Caldwell, spokeswoman for the San Diego County sheriff’s department.

The bodies are apparently those of a man and a woman. The sheriff’s department had received a call from neighbors that two persons were missing. Deputies responded to the neighborhood but quickly had to race to another call.

Hours later, a second search was mounted inside the destroyed home and the bodies were found. No names have been released by the county Medical Examiner.
