Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman’ is a new documentary about the architectural photographer that is making its way through film festivals around the country.
You can get a quick peek at the film on the trailer above, which comes to us courtesy of Curbed L.A.

Narrated by Dustin Hoffman, the movie features extensive footage of the nonagenarian Shulman at work as he photographs important buildings around L.A. Talking-head interviewees include Frank Gehry, Ed Ruscha, Dante Spinotti and Tom Ford. There’s even a scene in the movie of Shulman photographing Walt Disney Concert Hall on Grand Avenue.

Upcoming screenings of the documentary include a LACMA screening on June 7 at 2 p.m. (with a book-signing by Shulman) and a MOCA screening at the Geffen Contemporary on June 27 at 6 p.m.
