Valentine’s Day countdown: Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis’ favorite love song

From now through Valentine’s Day we’re sharing the favorite love song from eight musicians who are about to perform in the Los Angeles area. Today, Wynton Marsalis selects “Embraceable You” by George and Ira Gershwin.

‘I like this song because it fundamentally states what is required for a romance to blossom.’

(Another Gershwin classic, ‘An American in Paris’ is on the bill this weekend when Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center join the Los Angeles Philharmonic for a concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall.)
