Maison Giraud finally, officially opens

Maison Giraud, the long-awaited Pacific Palisades project from chef Alain Giraud, will finally officially open to the public Monday after a series of soft-openings and small parties. Giraud, who has a long history in Southern California fine dining, dating back to his decade as executive chef at Citrus, is going casual this time with a combination neighborhood restaurant and bakery that will be open from breakfast through dinner (including late-afternoon snack, or ‘gouter’).

It’s been a long haul getting the restaurant open. Originally, Maison Giraud was supposed to be up and running in May, but issues with permitting delayed the opening several months. ‘It’s like having a baby if your wife is in labor for five days,’ Giraud says. ‘You’re happy when it’s over, but it’s mostly relief.’
