Dream a little dream of … what?

A power bat? A proven ace? A lights-out closer?

This figures to be one of the Dodgers’ busiest off-seasons in years, or at least you hope.

Every team needs its priorities. Has to have its off-season plan, its very own wish list.

Now, granted, dreaming Frank McCourt signs a Carl Crawford or a Cliff Lee seems about as realistic as a Lane Kiffin smile. The next $100-million contract McCourt gives out will be his first.

But for the sake of argument, let that go for now. This is a wish list, dreaming big.

Rationalize McCourt realizes he needs a major acquisition, if only for the badly needed public-relations move. That somehow he gets his new star to accept deferred payments from now until Pluto returns as a planet.

What should be the first thing the Dodgers go after?

True, they have more that a couple needs. There is almost nowhere they don’t have a need -- or that could use at least a serious upgrade.

So if you’re Ned Colletti and have a reasonable budget to work with -- dream, I said -- you start where?
