Frank McCourt plans to pursue another legal avenue to sole ownership of the Dodgers, an attorney representing him said Tuesday.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon on Tuesday invalidated a 2004 marital agreement that would have provided Frank with sole ownership of the Dodgers. Attorney Victoria Cook said Frank would consider whether to appeal.

In his ruling, Gordon did not say who would own the Dodgers. Jamie McCourt, Frank’s ex-wife, claims co-ownership of the team.

‘The Court explicitly does not make any findings with regard to the characterization of the parties’ property or interest in any property,’ Gordon wrote.

Said Cook: ‘Now ownership has to be determined.’

Cook said Frank soon would file a motion with the court for a second trial, this one on the basis that Frank has sole title to the Dodgers and acquired it with a company formed before his marriage to Jamie.

Cook said she believed such a trial could take one day and hoped the court could take up the matter promptly. Jamie’s attorneys have said such a trial could take 60 days and require months of preparation.

‘It would be great to get this resolved by the time the season opens,’ she said.

When Frank accepted a mediator’s settlement offer last month -- Jamie rejected the offer -- he said he did so in the best interests of his family, the Dodgers and the community. Asked whether Frank considered an extended legal fight in the best interests of the Dodgers and the community, she said: ‘The community is served by having Frank quickly found to be the sole owner of the Dodgers.’
