Could Jane Lynch‘s Sue Sylvester tracksuit be jogging to the Emmy Awards?

The ‘Glee’ favorite could be tap-dancing on television’s biggest night as host, a new report says.

Lynch has been approached by the TV academy to play emcee, according to the Hollywood Reporter, as the telecast will air on Fox this year. Lynch is a prime candidate to host, given that she’s a versatile and beloved star on a network that has no late-night funnyman (typically tapped in this scenario).

The report notes that Lynch would be the third female to host solo in the history of the telecast, on the heels of Ellen DeGeneres in 2005 and Angela Lansbury in 1993.

Last year’s ceremony was aired on NBC, hosted by comic Jimmy Fallon.
