If you’ve been a fan of Hot Property for years, perhaps you’ve wondered what ever happened to Ruth Ryon, who started the column in 1985 and had the good sense to get out of the newspaper business this year before the golden parachutes ran out.

She has resurfaced at the recently launched Real Estate Channel, where she continues to plumb the celebrity real estate beat writing on the possible foreclosure sale of the 235-acre estate of former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield in Atlanta. Reports Ryon:

‘On Evander Holyfield Highway, the estate has a 54,000-square-foot home with 109 rooms, including 17 bathrooms, three kitchens and a two-lane bowling alley. Known as Villa Vittoriosa, it is the largest single-family home in Fayette County. ‘It is reported to have cost in excess of $30 million when built between 1994 and 1999 and is thought to be worth about $20 million.’

Perhaps Holyfield can take a lesson from Ed McMahon on forestalling a foreclosure.
