Free small-business coaching in O.C. on May 12

Think of this as speed dating for small companies.

The Hilton Anaheim in Orange County will host a free ‘Speed Coaching’ event on May 12, where counselors will dispense advice and discuss resources with hundreds of California business owners.

The partnership between SCORE, a nonprofit network of business mentors, and American Express OPEN will offer one-on-one 30-minute evaluation sessions from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event also will feature workshops on marketing, business planning and success stories.

The speed coaching program is also scheduled to stop in Salt Lake City, New York City, Portland, Tampa and Washington, D.C.
