The Claremont home of Armstrong Garden Centers President Michael D. Kunce and his wife, Marianne, has sold for $2.55 million.

The 8,137-square-foot house, with five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, an office and a three-room guest suite, came on the market in May 2008 at $3 million. The nearly one-acre property includes a 68-foot swimming pool, a wading pool and a spa.

The two-story home was custom built in 2003 after the couple purchased the property that year for $425,000, public records show.

In the Kunces’ Claremont 91711 ZIP Code, 100 single-family homes sold in the first half of the year at a median price of $520,000, according to MDA DataQuick. That was a 1.9% drop from the first half of 2008.
