More details on Wal-Mart’s plan to open stores at midnight on Black Friday

Like many retailers this holiday season, Wal-Mart plans to open its doors earlier on the day after Thanksgiving for the shopping extravaganza known as Black Friday.
On Monday, the nation’s largest retailer said it would host an all-night ‘Open House’ on Black Friday, with deals on toys, apparel and home items starting at midnight and the always-coveted electronics deals -- including those on HDTVs, laptops and gaming systems -- starting at 5 a.m.
Wal-Mart said the earlier store openings -- which are scheduled to take place at most stores -- would help families ‘avoid standing in the cold waiting for stores to open,’ but it’s also another aggressive move to grab sales during the all-important holiday season.
Here’s a look at some of the Black Friday deals at Wal-Mart:
In-store deals on toys, home and apparel starting at midnight:

Wal-Mart said it would also offer online-only specials on Thanksgiving Day, and Wal-Mart stores will feature a Saturday in-store electronics savings event on Nov. 27.
Last week, Wal-Mart said it would offer free shipping on about 60,000 holiday items to online shoppers.
