President Obama arrived at Arlington National Cemetery this morning and placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns, part of the commemoration of Veterans Day.

The president arrived at 10:39 a.m. A few war protesters were at the entrance.

On a rainy day, Obama honored those who had fallen and those currently serving. He placed the wreath, which was on a stand, and then stood silently for several moments. A bugler sounded taps.

Later, Obama will meet with military and national security officials to discuss the war in Afghanistan.
