Dignitaries gather for Biden’s mother’s funeral

WILMINGTON, DEL. — Hundreds of people are gathering in Delaware to pay their respects to Vice President Joe Biden’s mother.

Jean Finnegan Biden died at the age of 92 on Friday after a brief illness. A crowd of about 700 people gathered this morning in the sanctuary at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Wilmington for a funeral Mass.

Those in attendance include President Obama, former President Bill Clinton and several Cabinet officials and members of Congress.

The president and first lady met privately with the Biden family before the funeral began.
